Jiu-jitsu’s Kaila Napolis wins Philippines’ first gold medal in SEA Games 2023

At the 32nd Southeast Asian Games’ women’s jiu-jitsu competition, Kaila Napolis won the country’s first gold medal on Thursday after defeating a fierce rival in Jessa Khan in front of her home fans.

Near the end of their Newaza Gi 52kg match, Napolis swept Khan and took control of the situation, giving herself two points and avenging a heartbreaking loss to the same opponent in the 2019 SEA Games in Manila.
